American Structures, Inc.'s primary area of expertise is the design and fabrication of stainless steel bolted tanks. We use stainless steel sheets of various thicknesses, precisely punching and rolling them into the required shapes. This process eases the erection of the tank at the job site. No additional welding or cutting is necessary after leaving the factory.
American Structures, Inc. uses experience, coupled with the superb qualities of stainless steel to deliver an exceptional product. We have erection crews across the nation, which speeds up assembly and lowers erection costs. Our bolted storage tanks can be easily expanded without changing the storage system or tank design, offering greater versatility, as well as the ability to grow with your needs.
The use of stainless steel in the fabrication of our storage tanks means many things to you. Stainless steel:
- Is virtually maintenance free
- Does not stain or rust like steel does. It keeps its aesthetic appeal and can store most types of materials
- Is 100% recyclable, helping to preserve the environment and reduce waste in industry
- Is fire and heat resistant, allowing for storage of liquids in process
- Is aesthetically pleasing, fitting into any landscape with its modern and attractive look
- Has high strength to weight ratio, meaning savings on material, and extra durability
- Is impact resistant, insuring higher levels of safety
- Is less expensive and has a longer life cycle when compared to alternative metals, which results in cost savings over time
Along with estimates, American Structures, Inc. can provide schematic tank drawings that depict the basic size, shape and any appurtenances needed. These schematics - with specific information provided by the customer - form the basis for a sales agreement. After a sales agreement is reached, shop drawings are prepared and a production schedule is determined.
All stainless steel tanks manufactured by American Structures, Inc. are provided with a completed set of drawings, which, after approval, serve to provide the parameters for the tank’s fabrication, to meet the project requirements as specified in the sales agreement.
Sheet thicknesses and bolt spacing are engineered according to AWWA, API, ASTM, NRCS, and other standards. A schedule of sheet thicknesses is provided with each set of shop drawings. Each sheet is factory-formed to the curvature of the tank after the boltholes have been punched and all factory-installed openings have been cut. Engineering calculations are provided in conjunction with the drawings, if required by process specifications.
Sizing: We are capable of building tanks up to 5,000,000 gallons in capacity.
Appurtenances: Our tanks come complete with a variety of accessories, such as manways, roof vents, nozzles, roofs, ladders and cages, platforms, exterior web trusses, piping, level indicators, heaters, and agitation systems. If a roof is desired, it can be stainless, aluminum, or FRP, and up to 200 feet in diameter.
